Manly Wharf to Manly beach via North Head

June 29, 2015

It was a nice sunny day for a hike. Lots of sunshine and lots of traffic.
We began our walk from Manly Wharf and headed down Darley St towards North head. There was signage so it was quite straight forward!.

We walked uphill until we got to the beginning and walked at a steady pace towards the Fairfax lookout. It was a flat walk with magnificent views of the harbour. The lookout had volunteers that provided binoculars for visitors to use. We spotted a few migrating whales out in the oceans!

We headed back where we came from but this time we made a turn to reach Shelley beach. Nice little spot with a lot of people! The walk there was gentle and it led us through a hole in the wall.

We finally reached Manly beach and dipped our toes in the water – it was freezing! Overall a great scenic hike close to the city. Excellent views and lots to do!
